Safeguarding Children

It is the aim of the policy for all staff to be aware of the signs and symptoms of abuse and to follow the procedures.

The Local Authority has a duty to investigate situations where it has a reasonable cause to suspect that a child who lives, or is found in their area, is suffering, or likely to suffer significant harm. Enquiries must be made to decide whether it should take any action to safeguard the child's welfare. Barn Owls follows and takes account of the Shropshire Child Protection procedures outlined in the Shropshire Local Safeguarding Children Board's Child Protection Handbook. Categories of concern are Neglect: Physical Abuse: Sexual Abuse: emotional Abuse. Refer to the policy in Barn Owls.
